The ruins we saw on our first visit have been transformed into what they once were, and more – not simply reborn, but re-created, wonderfully modernized, yet ancient. The accommodations are luxuriously comfortable, the food a series of memorable feasts and delicacies, the hilltop setting like a painting of a manicured Tuscan landscape. "Over the years I’ve had the good fortune to be able to experience many 5-star resorts and hotels in the United States and Europe. The Borgo rates with the best of them. Old world charm is combined with state of the art features such as an excellent audio visual center, spacious conference room and exercise/spa/pool area to live for. In the morning I enjoyed opening the shutters of my comfortable bedroom to look out over the rolling Tuscan hills. In almost every direction there is a picture perfect view of Tuscany in all of its grandeur. The food and wine were fabulous and the service couldn’t be better. These ingredients are important but there is also an intangible warmth and energy that the Borgo has which contributes to this as a special place for retreats, conferences and family gatherings. Certainly a center of excellence, which I highly recommend. I look forward to enjoying the Borgo experience again."

"Over the years we have been visiting the Borgo, it has grown in its singular vision of people together in conversation, celebration and caring. The experience is fellowship in the midst of beauty. From breakfast on the porch to the long walks in the countryside to wine and the quiet of evening with a friend, the time is full of the skies and hills of Tuscany and the kindness of the staff. My memory is always anchored in the early morning, sitting on the bench that looks down in the fog filled valley below, the silence broken only by the occasional sound of a train running in the mist and the birds calling from the hills.
